This is a quick how to register a domain name at Domain Name Services and affiliate websites.
Do not apply for this service if you are under the age of 18 years.
Step 1. Choose a name that your want to use as the domain name. Have three (3) just incase your first choice fails.
Step 2. Go to one of the sites that register these domain names e.g.
Dnsau.com and click on "WHOIS" then check the chosen domain name is available.
Step 3. Go to a free DNS provider or your Webhosting company and get the domain setup on their nameservers. Note down the nameserver names and the IP numbers. make sure that the nameservers meet the requirement of being in different subnets or geographical locations. Then return to the registering site.
Step 4. Back at the registering site click on "APPLICATION". You will be presented with an application form. Use your proper name no "aliases" e.g. "marsman" otherwise the application will be rejected from the start. Email addresses you must give a domain address that is not a freemail address. All known freemail addresses e.g yahoo, msn, hotmail, 163.com, hotpop.com, lycos etc. on applications will cause the application to be rejected. If you are going to use a freemail address, do not apply as you are wasting you time.
You must give a proper address (city,state and country), and telephone number. If you do not want to give this information do not apply for the domain name. Giving false information is a criminal offence as this form is a legal document.
Step 5. Place the chosen name of the domain, the nameservers and the IP numbers on the form. You may leave any comments if any in the comments box. After this is completed click "SEND".
You have then completed the application task, within 24 hours depending on work load you will receive a confirmation email.
